Our Story

I’m Scott Frey, owner of Freys Building & Remodeling, a family-owned home remodeling company serving homeowners throughout the Triangle.

I grew up in Horseheads, New York, before moving to the Triangle with my family. I later earned a degree in civil engineering from Penn State and began my career in the construction industry with 84 Lumber. What started as a sales position quickly developed into a genuine interest in homebuilding and construction.

After returning to the Raleigh area, I worked as an estimator for a large production builder, where I learned how to estimate an entire home from the ground up. I was eventually promoted to project manager and gained valuable experience overseeing multiple homes through every stage of construction.

When the economy began to shift, I was given the opportunity to manage a remodeling division for a local builder. That experience introduced me to a different side of construction, and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed helping homeowners transform their existing spaces.

Every remodeling project is unique. You never know exactly what you may discover behind a wall or beneath a floor, and I enjoy using my construction knowledge and problem-solving experience to find the right solution for each home.

After several years in the remodeling industry, my brother, father, and I decided to take a leap of faith and start Freys Building & Remodeling from my home office in Holly Springs. What began as a small family business has grown into an experienced team serving homeowners throughout Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, and communities across the Triangle.

Today, our team includes professionals in project management, production, estimating, office operations, marketing, finance, and customer relations. Although the company has grown, our family-oriented approach has never changed. Every person on the Freys team is part of our family, and we extend that same care and respect to every homeowner we serve.

Whether we are completing a kitchen remodel, bathroom renovation, home addition, whole-home remodel, screened porch, or outdoor living project, our goal is to help homeowners create spaces that are more functional, comfortable, and enjoyable.
