For this Raleigh family, an outdoor space was exactly what their home was lacking. With no where to entertain in the summer months they knew it was time to make a change!

The Sunroom

We first started with the sunroom. This already open space leading into the kitchen made for a great entrance to the new covered porch. We installed 24″ x 24″ Porcelain tile flooring, can lighting and skylights to the space. A new doorway was installed entering the covered porch and creating a nice flow from the kitchen.

The Covered Porch

This new covered porch made for a perfect hangout during the summer months but also a cozy space for the cold ones too! We began by pouring concrete where the covered porch would be built. Once the concrete was poured, new tile floors matching the sunroom were installed. Lighting was next with 6″ LED can lights with and a dimmer.

To add to the cozy comfort of this new space the Homeowners selected a 36″ gas fireplace insert. We added brick veneer matching the existing brick on the house as needed on the exterior walls of the new fireplace. Lastly, 16″ x 16″ porcelain tile was installed to surround the fireplace and complete the look.

To make this space enjoyable year round we installed Phantom Screens to the new covered porch area. Once the initial build was complete our friends at Lavish Raleigh came to add their special touches to this luxurious space!

Spending time outside is a group favorite during the warm months. In this case it is an entertainment space year round!

Overview

After their Master Bathroom remodel in 2015 these homeowners wanted to brighten up their dated kitchen! The original kitchen was dated with dark cabinetry and countertops, poor lighting and dated appliances. This space was dated but it had tons of room for improvement.

The Remodel

With the help of Rebecca Rotella Riley and the Kitchen and Bath Galleries team were able to turn this dated space into a new highly functional space.

Demo

The original backsplash, countertops and cabinetry were removed as well as the pendant and fluorescent lighting in the kitchen and bar area.

Install

All new plumbing fixtures were supplied by Kitchen and Bath Galleries and installed by Freys. A new Farmhouse Style Sink in Fireclay White was installed in the island and new cabinetry and countertops came next.

The design work installation came next. Astoria Pegawai Highball glass backsplash was installed to the ceiling at the Hood Vent. Then, Glass Deco 3″x9″ Astoria Bergamot Silk Tile from Triangle Tile and Stone was to be installed at the Range.

A new Chimney Hood and 30″ Electric Range was installed in place of the dated microwave and stovetop.

Next, a floating shelf was added to the bar area. New clear glass cabinetry with glass shelves and a 24″ bar fridge were then installed in the new space.

Finally, across from the bar area Mitered Waterfall Legs supplied by Absolute Stone were installed on both sides of the island.

Texture on Walls

Shiplap was all the hype in 2020 but stepping into 2021 we are embracing textured walls in a new way. For this powder room a lattice wall was the way to go, adding depth and dimension to a small space. In 2021 “..designers and homeowners alike are discovering that they can play with certain elements in a room by using what is already there..” in this case, the walls.

Oversize Rectangle Tile

A trend that we started to see towards the end of 2020 has taken over 2021 bathrooms everywhere! Classic subway tile in bathrooms are being replaced with oversized rectangle tiles in classic patterns from herringbone, stacked and brick. This new large format tile helps to trick your eyes into expanding your formerly small space.

Wood Grain Cabinets and Countertops

The classic all white cabinets is a forever trend. But, in 2021 we are seeing more and more wood cabinets in kitchens especially in the island. Instead of your classic all-white kitchen why not embrace the natural look with wood-grain cabinets and counters?

Funky Color Palettes

A 2020 trend we loved and know will continue into 2021 is funky color palettes! In addition, with the hard times of this past year many are looking for happiness and easier times. Brining in bold colors and styles to your home will make the transition to 2021 a happy one! Lose the classic neutrals and remodel with a funky color palette.

Bathroom Tech

All above, with hygiene and cleanliness making a bigger statement then ever, new bathroom innovations are on their way. Smart temperature bathroom floors, motion sensor lighting and touchless everything. You are guaranteed a cleanly home.

You never knew you needed a second dishwasher until now. Our homeowner of Whole House #4 loves to cook. What she doesn’t love is cleaning. Now with her Fisher-Paykel Dishwasher Drawer with a custom panel front she can now make cleaning easy while keeping her elegant kitchen look.

Rohl Wall Mounted Pot Filler

Why stop there? The Fisher-Paykel Dishwashing Drawer makes cleaning easier but with this Rohl Wall Mounted Pot Filler the cooking can be easy too. This Wall Mounted Swing Arm Pot Filler with Cross Handles in Polished Nickel sure makes the cooking to cleaning transition easier.

Dated and small this bathroom needed a change. The master closet had taken over the bathroom leaving space for a small shower and cramped tub. With this dark and tight space the first that had to go was the closet. Let the demoing begin!

The Transformation

First things first, we removed the original master bedroom closet with a full gut. In its place the new shower and freestanding tub. On the opposite wall the dated cabinets and mirrors were removed. All new Kitchen Craft Cabinetry provided by Kitchen and Bath Galleries gave this vanity the biggest transformation. A Carrara tile countertop by Absolute Stone was placed on top.

In the shower, a modern Bianca Carrara tile and Grey Hex flooring by Triangle Tile and Stone and a custom shower niche by Freys. With the design plan by Designer Melissa Wood with Kitchen and Bath Galleries, this bathroom came together quick.

In addition, the closest took over the space where the original tub stood. To allow for optimal space in the closet and shower entryway no closet door was installed. The 59″ Ceres Acrylic Free Standing Tub set the mood for a perfect candlelight bath.
